森美術館Stars展

森美術館で開催中のStars展(世界的に活躍している日本人の現代美術家6人展)に行きました。

一部のエリアを除いて、写真撮影もSNSシェアもOK。美術館も変わってきてますね。

いろいろと興味深かったのですが、今回、特に見たかったのは宮島達男さんの作品。宮島達男さんとは、25年ほど前、会社のエンジニアとのコラボレーションプロジェクトで一緒にお仕事をさせて頂いた事があり、その後の作品について知りたいと思っていたので。

東日本大震災で被災した東北の鎮魂と復興を願う「時の海-東北」の作品は、地元の人たちと一緒に作った素敵な作品でした。

現代美術は、同世代に生きるアーティストの方々が、なぜこのような作品を作ったのかなぁ、と考えを巡らすのが楽しいです。

I went to the Stars exhibition (an exhibition of six international contemporary Japanese artists) at Mori Art Museum.

With the exception of a few areas, you are allowed to take photos and share them on social media.

A lot of things were interesting to me, but this time I particularly wanted to see the work of Tatsuo Miyajima.I had worked with Tatsuo Miyajima about 25 years ago on a collaboration project with engineers at the company I worked for, and I was curious to learn more about his later work.

The work “Sea of Time – Tohoku” was a beautiful piece of work created with the local people to pray for the repose of the souls of the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake and their recovery.

In contemporary art, I enjoy pondering why artists of my generation created such works of art.
